How To Install Cubicle Curtain Tracks
Before Installation:
Use care in unpacking and handling your track order to avoid kinking, racking and denting, which may impede carrier mobility.
Condition of Track:
Cubicle Track is furnished to you unpunched. When installing into plaster or concrete pre-drilling in the exact center of the track at intervals of 3 feet is suggested. Punching and installing onto grid system can be done simultaneously.
Fasteners:
Fasteners should be #8 pan or hex head-recessed screws of appropriate length and type for installation surface and conditions. Drill size and fastenings, supplies by the installer, should be compatible. Do not use greater than a #12 in size.
Suggestion on various installations:
- Plaster and Lath or Gypsum Board – Use 3/16” Toggle bolt 3 feet on center.
- Concrete Ceiling Construction – 1” plastic plug with #10 x 1 recessed head sheet metal screws staggered 3 feet on center.
- Exposed Grid System - #6 x 1/2” recessed head sheet metal screws.
- Acoustic Tile Mechanically Suspended – 1 x 3 fireproof grounds with wood screws (recessed head is recommended for ease of carrier glide) *Note: Use this when there is no grid.
Installation:
Lightly mark the ceiling where the track is to be installed
Starting from the center point of the radius, drill in the exact center of the track at intervals of 3 feet When drilling ends of tracks, drill through End Cap and Drop Out End simultaneously with track. Drill size should be compatible with the fastenings being used. An End Cap should be installed at the Curtain Stacking Point. It is not necessary to install Curtain Carriers at this time, but it may be done if desired. The manufacturer provides 3 carriers per lineal foot of track. Carriers can be added later through Drop End Out.
