How To Measure For Cubicle Curtains
How to Calculate the Curtain Height:
- 1. Measure the ceiling height in inches. (ex. 108")
- 2. Subtract 2" for the cubicle curtain carriers. (ex. 108"-2"=106")
- 3. Subtract 12" to 14" from the floor. (ex. 106"-12"=94") Fabric Height = 94".
How to Calculate the Curtain Width:
- 1. Measure the length of the area you wish to cover in inches. (ex. 180")
- 2. Add 10% to provide the fullness to the curtain. (ex. 180"+18"=198") Minimum Curtain Width = 198".
*Special Note: you must round up to the next width of fabric available for your curtain width.
The standard curtain widths are: 102", 136", 170", 204", 238", 272". Size calculated above would be 204"W X 94"H.
Do’s and Dont's of Measuring:
- Do: Always measure every ceiling and track even when doing multiple rooms. Although the track may look to be the same size, they may be a little different.
- Do: Consider any obstructions that may hinder operation or installation of the cubicle curtain and the cubicle curtain track.
- Do: List the "Width" first and "Height" second when giving measurements. (ex. 136W x 80H)
- Do: Round your measurement up and use the appropriate cubicle curtain predefined size.
- Do: Use a steel 1" measuring tape for accurate measurements.
- Don’t: Measure only the cubicle curtain fabric when ordering a replacement curtain. After laundering, these products are often installed in the wrong room and it is safest to take new measurements based on the hardware.
- Don’t: Install cubicle curtains over lights-you will not be able to change the bulbs.
